Pillionpup (Henrietta) and myself are making a further attempt (24 / 26 Sept.) to cure ourselves of Barberton and its surrounding roads, tracks, dams and trails this coming weekend. We will leave Fourways fairly early Friday, say 08h00, and travel double via the non-toll (matter of principle) roads through Rayton, Bronkhorstspruit, Witbank, Middleburg to Machadodorp. Then adjacent to the Komati River valley to Badplaas. Then more of the Komati River valley to Josefsdal / Bulembu border post, and into Barberton from the Swazi side. NOTE: Josefdal to Barberton is best done in the afternoon, as this road can be wet in the mornings due to mist and seepage. The total trip has about 60km of gravel. We want to stop and smell the flowers, and throw stones in the water occasionally.
We have booked a self catering chalet at the Barberton chalets and camping in the middle of town. Phone Wayne 013 712 3323. He is very biker friendly. We do not mind to share our chalet. We will do various outrides Sat and Sun and probably Mon. This may partially effect the desired cure.
We would welcome the company of other couples or singles who would like to join us.
