I found out that there's a Garmin agent surprisingly close to where I live so I went there last week for a power cable and the woman shows me the bulletin that the GPSMap 276C has just been discontinued (spares and back up will carry on for years though).
Apparently they're replacing it in SA with the GPSMap620. Like the 276C it is also a marine/automotive unit. It is, however, a touch screen thingy. Will arrive in due corse. Also, not much change for R10 000.
