Garmin Etrex Repair faulty/intermittent push switch
All of us with a garmin at some point find the side switches get a bit dicky, eventually they pack up. The good news is that garmin has been using the same tact switches since the dawn of time up until present. They are also on the GPS csx series. They are easy to lift off and replace with a small tip soldering iron and while you have the case open solder wires between the spring contact on the battery case and the motherboard. That will stop it turning off when it gets jolt. The switches are available at:

As you see I have a whole bag of them which doesn't help you much seeing as I am in Australia.
