I have these over the boot MX pants. They have leather inserts on the inside of the leg to help protect your legs against the heat of the engine. The system works very well and it is very robust. In the beginning after washing and drying the leather remained soft and supple.
I have had the pants for about a year now and after every wash the leather becomes very hard. What could one do after every wash to get the leather soft again? I think what has happened is that the leather was specially treated and this treatment has faded away over time. I don't want to leave it to a point where the leather gets to brittle and starts to break.
So if any of you have any suggestion on leather treatment, please advise.
