Reading the T7 saga, and noting the comments therein about accuracy of speedos and odometers makes me wonder. What are electronics on modern bikes for? Accuracy they tell us, not so?
We have precisely metered fuelling, better than those old carburettors which got worn and went out of tune. And accurate ignition timing without the old hit and miss mechanical advance/retard mechanisms.
So why not accurate instruments to measure speed, mileage, and fuel level. Ten per cent discrepancy, or in many cases a lot more should surely be a thing of the past? ???
