Gravel all the way Pont Drif to Cape Augulhas

Was sitting in the traffic in Jhb today and wondered.  Is it possible to ride from Pont Drif (most northern part of RSA) to Cape Agulhas (most southern point) on gravel?  Obviously not all the way but by far the most of the way.  Any route, via Lesotho or Kimberley or Upington or anything in between.  How would a person go about finding a route?  Using road maps?
