Grootrivierpoort to Willowmore along the mountains- Road conditions?

After the exit from Grootrivierpoort, we plan to take the road west along the Baviaanskloof mountains to Willowmore. Anybody been along there lately that can say what the roads are like?
There'll be some bakkies involved too.
