Welsh was generous enough to give me a GSA rear coil spring that I'd like to fit to my existing GS rear shock. It's about 1cm taller, so it makes sense that the spring would be under more tension (assuming both springs have the same spring rate) when fitted, making it less likely to bottom out. We're going on a trip down to CT, fully loaded. I'm struggling to find precedent for this procedure, has anyone heard of someone doing it? I could increase the preload on the front shock, if needed (After fitting the GSA coil spring on the rear shock), or maybe get a GSA front coil spring. Any comments?
