It was a gr8 weekend although we had some mishaps on Friday Haba and me got to our destination around 22h40 on Friday night.
1st the one customer followed the other on Friday afternoon so our plan to hit the road by 13h00 got postponed till 16hoo. Filling up at the petrol station we find that Haba's bike got NO lights-All dead!!!! You press the lightswitch and everything lights up like a chrismas tree. Let go... and NOTHING! :-\
Al wat Deon se toe ek hom laat weet is "o Hel!!!"
So everything gets packed into the Sharan and guess what..... :BangHead: I'm again cheated out of a long ride on my Dakkie!!! ??? :'(
We wait for Zagser and Goggabie in Bethlehem after Haba travelled on the Dakkie at night with tempretures ranging from 4 degrees to -5.5! I felt so sorry for my hubby.....schucks - it was freezing!!!!!
We drink coffee and set the GPS's for Slaapkranz.....mistake!!! BIG Mistake.....it takes us on a little 2 spoor paadjie into the bundus. The Sharan acting as a 4x4 for the first time......
First thing we did when Deon got us to our destination was a warm coffee :coffee2: and heat up next to a crackling fire. We only went to bed at about 2 am!!!:sleepy2:
Next morning we had to get up early.....had to meet Deon at 7h15 on the Warden turn to get to Tulie's place!!! Nice warm coffee was waiting for us when we arrived. Just what we neede to warm up our Icey cold hands.
From there we hit tar the Harrismith to fill up on feul - both for the bikes and ourselves! The next moment this white bakkie pulls in with the Tenere for a delivery in bethlehem for a mr Theo Roux....lucky guy and our best friends as well as foster parents for our kids when we do trips like these. Phoned him to congratulate him - that did it - this guy was excited!!! :blob8:
When the guys hit the gravel I decided to join the filmcrew in the backup vehicle due to the Dakkie not being a nice bike to stand as a pillion. My feet keep on slipping off the pegs. Don't want to cause a accident!!! :happy1:
The pics have there own footers so you can follw the rest!
