Heated Grip Cold

My right side grip is not getting hot anymore. Packed up last weekend while riding up in the Burg. I have stripped the throttle down and now need to know what is the next step. Can you get these " elements " as a separate item or are they a unit that has to be bought from BMW. Thanks
