SABS and AMID urged importers of helmets to submit sample helmets for homologation before 01 Jul 2006, allot of which did not. The DOT approval is also not recognised in SA. They warned the public because of substandard helmets being imported into SA.

This is a list of the helmets tested. Arai is not on the list but Airoh is, personally I don't think the Airoh is a good helmet, but thats just my opinion.
