Hi all,
On the way back from the WD bash to Pretoria, Shark and I took a minor detour over Naudesnek, Sani Pass and Lesotho back home. Ride report will follow. To cut a long story short, a hard landing on the GS up Sani Pass saw me bottoming out all available suspension, and losing the topbox together with the back part of the frame that it was mounted on - snapped right off! Like Shark said, the GS flies nicely, but it lands like a piano.
Any how, the topbox is now staying at the guesthouse at the Sani top pub. Jonathan, the owner, and Lloyd, one of the barmen, have agreed to try and hitch a lift for it on a 4x4 going back to Gauteng. If any of you know of anyone going through there in the near future, please let me know so I can make the necessary arrangements.
