This weekend I joined some friends in Burgersdorp. This involved a dash to Bloemfontein on thursday afternoon and the last 200 km in the dark and then on to Burgersdorp on friday morning.( no ride report as this was a boring tar ride)
I was quite apprehensive as I have never done anything like this before, even if it was to be on tar. I am now sure that the HID light are the best safety investment that I have made so far( hi and low beams). I was able to ride at speeds of 120 - 140 without any fear as visibility was excellent. Once or twice when oncoming cars flashed me and I flashed them back it was clear that they understood the difference between my hi and low beams!! > ;D
Highly recommended safety gear. I don't understand why bike manufacturers dont spec them with new bikes!
