I have a 2007 Honda Transalp XL650V (15800 km on the clock). After the catalyst got badly damaged (flip up stone), I had it removed and had a straight pipe installed in its place. It now sounds better, pull better and is somewhat less thirsty and it lost some weight.
Last year a BMC performance air filter was fitted and the carb mixture was analysed, set and the carbs ballanced. Now I want to fit a SBK free flow muffler, but I am warned that it will shorten the live of the engine and the live of the exhaust valves.
What I am trying to do is to get the right jets, have the SBK muffler fitted and then have it put on a dyno to get the setup more or less to where the bike will not suffer any ill effects. Who can I contact to help me out on this issue with finding the right parts? I like tooling and this would make a nice winter job.
