How does CRF450X compare with the XR400R?

Seeing that everyone is having these stunning CRF450X projects I have a question. How does the Xr400R compare with the CRF450X. Specifically with DS riding in mind. I know the CRF is probable easier to come by and you can maybe get a cheaper bike than a roadworthy XR400R. Please give/share your thoughts on the two bikes.
