I have been looking at buying a dualie, and was considering a Kawasaki KLR 650, but have been put off by all the negative comments about bad cylinders, heavy oil usage, indicators falling off, a doohicky 
that needs to replaced, etc etc. I am not mechanically minded and after having owned a Land Rover Disco and Defender, I definitely do not need the crap of fixing bikes.
I am now considering the X-Country or F650GS. I have a friend with a penchant for falling off his X-Country, now he reckons it is unstable over 120km/h, is this true? Is it a good long-distance road bike, i.e. smooth rider? I know it is very capable for the level of off-road work I want to do.
