Good morning dog friends
I have a BMW 1200 GSA, 2010 model, named "Rooimier".
A couple of time I had a surprize on the fuel gauge now. One moment it indicates that I can still do 200 odd km...next moment the reserve fuel light comes on and on inspection, I suddenly have only 80 odd km to go. Fuel gauge also dropped to vertually one line. I always thought it might have been due to the bike standing on the side-stand and then giving an incorrect reading.
This morning I monitored it closely. On my way to work, it still showed 209 km to go ("Range"). As the kms ticked off, so did the Range indicator. Until I hit 190 to go. Then suddenly it started coming down drastically. Every about 50 meters it ticks off a km. Until the reserve light came on and with about 80 km to go. There it settled down again like normal.
Is there any other dogs experiencing the same thing? Is there an error on my gauge? Should I worry and take it in to BMW to fix?
At least, now I know what to expect. Not really a big deal, but still...I hate incorrect information.
