AT 750 cam timing advise required please. The Haynes manual shows the timing marks (index lines) on the cam sprocket must be parallel with the surface of the cylinder head. Try as I may, the marks for the front and rear cylinders are never 100% parallel, but always about 3 to 5° out. If I move the cam sprocket by one tooth in the opposite direction it is still out about the same but in the opposite direction. If I put the sprockets in the parallel position, then I just lose the FT mark on the fly wheel.
I have fitted new chain guides, but not replaced the chains. At this point the tensioners have not been activated.
