I have a dilemma with my bike’s future roadworthying a KTM 525 XC-W (2007). I went through a great deal of trouble to get hold of the original registration papers and now that the bike is at last registered in my name it seems that I cannot make it roadworthy. On the MVLX (Motor Vehicle License papers) it says "NOT ROADWORTHY / NIE PADWAARDIG".
As I understand I can add all the bells, whistles, lights and indicators necessary to this bike but I’ll never be able to get her roadworthy. Now, my question is, this feature – roadworthiness... is it linked to only the VIN or engine number or is it linked to the VIN and engine number?
If only VIN, how difficult/expensive will it be to (re)build the XC-W engine onto a KTM 525 EXC (a roadworthy) rolling chassis? Any other idea to skin this cat..?
