Hi there !
The day has come.
I need a bike to help out with the commute to Century City, while being cheaper on the juice and the service costs. (Plus I love the GS, but its got over 125000 km on it already and I don't want to put 'work kilometers' on it if I don't have to.)
I could have gone for a 'proper' 200 - 400 cc commuter (road) bike, but then I thought that I could really do with a lighter bike that I can do some rough stuff and trails with as well as something my wife can learn on. The odd friend visiting or going with on a trip on it wouldn't be bad either.
I am in touch with Watty about a bike in P.E. (The XLR650 that's at a shop there) and he's going to have a squiz over the weekend.
In the meantime, if you hear of anything please let me know.
My requirements are:
- Electric start (if my wife's going to ride a DS 650 she wouldn't have the strength/technique as a newbie to balance and kickstart the thing)
- 500 to 650 cc DS (DR/XLR/KLR/Funduro/KLE etc) I think a DR would be 1st choice.
- Up to R30 000
- Obviously as good nic as possible
- Cape Town area if possible (unless there's one close to a Wild Dog who wouldn't mind checking it out on my behalf and taking/sending lots of photos and a 'ride report')
