Ama Ride Ride posted a thread a few weeks ago about scooters. That got me thinking about commuting costs and maybe getting a scoot for my missus. Any way, a few google searches, some scouting aroudn the usual places to buy bikes and now I am the owner of a Vespa ET4. Doesn't it look cute next to the GS? Its quite vippy in the traffic, handles ok although I do worry about visability. With the small wheels I suspect potholes would cause a world of trouble.
The controls are easy and feel 'solid', not like some of the rice burning varieties I took for a test ride.
I would not take it on a freeway (top speed of not more than 100kmh, downhill, with help from wind) but fortunatley my route to work can avoid this. Fuel consumption is reported to be 40 km/l, although I have not tested this myself yet.
