After doing a quick and dirty visual search regarding in helmet speakers, earplugs, earphones etc. I came up with this WD collection:

However, being the cheepskate I am, and liking to have music but having found that the earphones supplied with my ipod hurt my ears after a while, and that no matter what earphones I try they are all about the same - iether too expensive or they hurt or both. I also find that the moment you take the helmet off they become dislodged and often the sound quality/volume is not sufficient.

I bought from HI Faai Croperation these cheep (under R40 made by diamond) ones that fit inside the earhole like an earplug. While the speakers are not Bang unt Olofsin they sit quite comfortably and do not worry me even after a whole day of riding in the heat.
Being in the ear canal the sound is delivered where it should be so although you hear wind noise and traffic sounds (depending on which demented soul is playing the bagpipes) I am able to listen to harp music at 130km/h+ in the south easter.

They do not become dislodged when I remove my flip-up helmet so I am quite happy with them.
