Hello everyone,
Just a quick introduction. I am 33 years old living in Pretoria and working in Midrand. I don't currently own a bike. Have only owned scramblers and quads but am now looking to buy a bike and commute to work everyday.
As I have a limited budget and family concerned about safety (blah blah blah) I have registered mostly to get some good advice on what bike to buy and what to look for. I also hope to become part of this great (so some say) community as a fully fledged biker.
For anyone interested in my choices for bike, I am torn between a very used GS650 (very used is hopefully cheaper) or something like the KLR650.
I love all things classic and have always wondered if a restored bike from 70's or even 50's would be good as a commuter. I happen to also love the idea of the Honda CD200 (don't laugh), I reckon it is the beetle of motor bikes as delivery guys have been using them for years.
Anyway, any advice is welcome!
