Great RR.
I wonder why the bikes stopped so easily in water at the crossing. From the one pic it looks like the guy enters the water at speed. This could cause the sprayed water to enter the air intake.  It's always a bummer if you have to stop to get to water out.
I've seen guys mod the intake and fit a snorkel , like on a 4x4. Nogal a cool idea if you want to spray up water and not kill the engine.

Great one Thump, you are so "on the mark" we live in a beautiful country and it always there to be enjoyed  :thumleft:

Nice RR, Owen seriously needs to cut some hair. If he came on a ride with me I would be happy to help. ;D

With each ride report my to do list gets longer. Lekker water crossing beautiful scenery.

Great one guys.  :thumleft:

Thanks for the help there, guys !!!!  I still wanted to thank you there, but I was so disgusted and busy trying to find the cause of the problem, when I realised that you had already left.
After that crossing, I did a few more without any problems. I still cannot understand why it happened. The breather pipe has a plug in, so no water can enter through there. The other pipes were the carb overflow pipe, the tank overflow pipe and the battery breather pipe. Cant see how water could have been sucked up through one of those ????
It must have been my bad day. First a puncture (thorn) and then the water story. But otherwise a good ride in a beautiful area.  :thumleft:

Thanks once again for the help !!!

Nice trip Mr. Daniels.  :laughing4: I'm back from Zim for some more kak praat. Stealth Creeper snapped a finger almost right off on the Zambezi, so we aren't going to Plett this week.  :-\ Maybe time for a ride?

Thump, not wanting to talk to much kak, but did someone try and do some work on that road?
Espessially the Stydtlerville side.

Pistol and I came down from Stydtlerville on Tuesday, after they had 30mm plus rain up there, Patensie side was f..ken muddy, I'm sure they tried to grade the road but only succeeded in mud making.

Well to put it mildly, it drove me to drink, I mean Padlangs for a drink.Or 3 who keeps count.

Very nice RR. Especially if you can include your kids.... Very quiet on the "did you catch fish" question though.

When we went up there were some deep tread tracks from previous rains.
i reckon it must get very slippery when that clay gets soaking wet.
