Jericho illegal sand mining

I've recently ridden the 4x4 riverbed section between Jericho and Jericho Rock. I'm appalled by the amount of illegal sand mining happening. It may have been ok to have guys pinching a bakkie load or two, but at the moment it has morphed into a full scale mining operation, with TLB's, 20m3 tip trucks etc. At one place a hole of about 5m deep had been dug, with absolutely no safety measures or anything.

Safety notwithstanding, the local illegal miners are destroying the riverbed. Is this just another form of zamazama's?

Is there a way to report and stop this?
