JHB to Kampala or Nairobi ideas?

Planning my trip for next year and not sure which way to get up there.

I would appreciate any advice from guys who have been up there as to what would the best way to go would be and also what are the absolute must see things along the way.

Idea's would be going up along Lake Malawi, possibly going to see the Gorilla's while there.
