Hi there Dogs!
I've just finished farkling my son's Honda NXR125, and will be riding it down to the KZN midlands on the 23rd Dec.
The route will be as follows:
Edenvale to heidleberg by tar.
At heidleberg I'll go along the old R103, ducking under the N3 to Villiers.
Just after villiers, turn off onto the S48 via Pocklington to Cornelia.
Cornelia to Vrede.
Vrede to Verkykerskop.
From there to Swinburn via the Normandien Pass/ de Beers Pass gravel road.
Swinburn to Geluksburg, via Middledale Pass.
From there to Bergville, re-fuel.
Bergville to Wagendrift Dam via gravel to Moor Park reserve.
From there, via Kamberg Valley /Knackered Swan Pub to Rosetta.
My place is 2 km from the Rosetta Inn/ Ugly Duckling.
This route should take between 7 & 9 hours, depending on P-breaks, beer stops, photo's, and fuel consumed. The little bike does about 28 - 30kms/l, so the 12 litre tank should get me to at least Swinburne.Sounds like a joll, because I've done this route about 4 times now, on the Transalp, and the average speed I ride at is between 75 to 90km/hr, which is also close to the NXR's top end.
