My mates klr started a backfire, He phoned lecap , who assured him they all do it, I think he and lecap misunderstood each other, as a boere afrikaner and german, will struggle a bit with communication.
But this did,nt bother me much as it was,nt my bike doin it, till i looked at the following statement on a thread about the black hole syndrome:
Talking about muffler bolt recall, while trying to fix up my smashed bash plate (toured through Lesotho and went in too deep), I noticed
my KLR's exhaust has shed one of the bolts that secure it to the engine right at the front. This also explained the excessive back-firing
I've been experiencing since Lesotho. It was leaking to such an extent that I can see residue from the exhaust that has escaped there.
I went to check his bike and the one nut was gone and otherone loose, not even 2000km on the bike yet.
