I bought my bike new in 2010. I did the Doohicky on about 6000km's and a new sleeve and rings on 10 000km's because of excessive oil use. Now on 30 000km's she smashed valves, apparently due to a stretched cam chain that jumped and the Doohicky spring was found in pieces in the gearbox. I will probably sometime soon have to do a "Big Bore" upgrade, seeing that she uses more oil than I think is acceptable.
Was this just a bad run of events or is the phrase: "KLR is bullet proof!" just a whole lot of "bull"?
