About a month ago my trusty steed started to leak little droplets of petrol from somewhere at the back of the tap.
It only seemed to happen when I start or stop the engine and intermittently with that. I thought I'd take a closer
look one day when I get round to removing the tank. It didn't seem to be a major thing as it didn't affect the petrol
consumption. Well, so I thought...
Last night on may way home from work she started spitting little pulsating jets of fuel on to the side, all over the
battery, electrical bits, on to the gearbox and my left leg. Brought her to a stop, took my helmet off to have a closer
look but by now the spitting stopped??? Funny. The rubber hoses seem to be in good condition still.
As I stood there sniffing the petrol on my leg the thought came to me that from time to time my crash bars come
into contact with hard objects capable of making sparks. This might be a problem after all.
Now my question: Does anyone know what might be the cause of all this petrol leaking and furthermore will locktite
or some baling wire solve it?
