Grey Hound
My 2008 has been acting up a little - 22000 km on the clock, 6000 km since top-end replacement.
At highway speeds, when maintaining speed at constant throttle, it seems as if there's a slight surge... Like as if the bike is moving between overrun and acceleration by it's own weight. Difficult to describe.
In my mind there could be 2 causes - I'm still on the original chain and sprockets, and to be fair the chain needs replacing. The cush drive also has some play on it - I can actually move it with my hand at standstill (obviously), around 3 or so mm at the outer diameter of the sprocket.
Also, at FWO on the highway, if I tap off the bike almost dies completely, as if I've completely closed the throttle, only to come back to life an instant later...
What could the problem be? Are they related?
