A bit of advice from the KLR fundis please...
I checked my valve clearances last night (procedure from Marks' KLR 650 Website) and everything was going smoothly 'til I tried to insert my smallest feeler gauge (0.05mm) between the shim and the cam and... no clearance, zip ??? I checked all 4 clearances and they were all 0mm (I made sure I was at TDC). Can this be right? The bike had about 4 hours to cool down, is that enough?
Also... on the website from which I obtained the procedure, it clearly shows that at TDC, the cam lobes are pointing outwards (I also read this on a post by lecap on a previous thread). I checked 2 "consecutive" TDCs incase there were 2 TDCs per cam revolution but at TDC, by cam lobes are pointing inwards... Is this possible ???
Thanks in advance for your time.
