So next year I will (should) be in a position here in the USA if I get to return on a new Visa to but either or KLX300 - CRF 300
Yes some will say buy a secondhand DR650
No, I need as light as possible and new since in my area which is NE Kansas there are no bike mech, dealer or workshop.
Closest about 100miles from me and very hard to get time off and if I take time off I loose money.
KLX impress with a proper cartilage 43mm fork and adjustable front and rear with a piggy back reservoir on tear shock. $350 more expensive than the CRF but that suspension makes it worth while right?
Engine performance quite similar, KLX better topend and less midrange
I will use it to commute and then around July take 10 days off and do Colorado, venture around the ‘BDR’ (Back country discovery routes)
Great youtube - various vids on that
