Killer pics and fantastic ride report. That Bastervoetslaanpad  in the mud is something special

Ok, so I got am e-mail from Google this morning telling me that my PhotoSphere photos on Google Maps have received over 500,000 views in total. I was quite surprised and went to have a look, well what do you know......  ;D ;D

Here is the link to the sphere that I took of the Meiringspoort Waterfall during this ride report, pretty cool  :thumleft: :thumleft:

How do you take a photosphere? Neem jy net 'n klomp fotos in die area en google doen die res of hoe?

I downloaded a free Google App onto my phone, it is called Street View and made by Google. You basically take a bunch of pictures covering a 360deg sphere all around you. The App then stitches the whole thing together and records the location where you took the pic. You can then decide if you want to upload and publish the sphere straight onto Google Maps.

Stunning photos and great video (even minus soundtrack). The Bastervoetslaanpad and Katberg Pass are both on my to-do list for next year, though I will try to aim for a drier season!

Hey those Photoshere pics are great. Puts a whole new twist on panoramic views.
Bastervoetslaanpad is worth doing.  Really amazing views. Went up it on a GS1200 the morning after heavy rains, luckily had Lyn and DirtyXT to pick it up when it fell.

Dankie vir die trip report! Daai foto van die mense wat swem by Boesmansriviermond... My ouma + oupa het 'n huis daar gehad. Ons was elke Desember vakansie daar toe ek nog 'n laaitie was. Wil nog eendag weer terug gaan.  :'(

Lekker!

Daai was actually in Kenton by die Kariga Rivier. Hulle het elke jaar tussen Kersfees en Nuwe Jaar die "Kariga Big Float". Dis basically net almal wat op enige ding wat dryf, saam met die gety vanaf die parking lot op dryf tot by Horns Up verder op met die Kariga. Daar was tubes, Lilo's, boogie boards, alles! Daar was selfs ouens wat plastic dromme onder 'n restaurant hout tafel gesit het met 'n Windhoek Lager sambreel en als!

Oja, en vreeslik baie girls in bikini's!  :thumleft: :thumleft:

Excellent RR, well written and the photos :thumleft:

Well done and thank you for sharing :thumleft:

This is one of the best RR's I have read in a long time.

Well done to you both, amazing pictures - software helps but the eye for a good photo is still the most important thing.
Your descriptions and story was also lekker to read. I'm sure you will both have this one in the memory banks for the rest of your lives.

Thanks so much for sharing. :thumleft:

Really Amazing RR was hooked from the beginning to the end. Thanks for sharing it.  :ricky:

We are busy planning another lekker trip during July, so keep your eyes peeled for more of the same.....I am sure the pics, writing and riding will get better and better!!
