KTM 990/950 Freeflow standard silencers

Has anyone tried this? Can it work? Cut open the end of the cans, take out everything inside and weld a neat endcap and larger dia pipe on. This should be the same as the aftermarket pipes? Any ideas ?
This is the cheap option , maybe Pooratech?
