It is no secret that while the KTM Adventures are really capable machines, there are a lot of them that will never see dirt. They will be blinged, polished and loved. It is also no secret that they lend themselves perfectly to this, mainly because they have such huge side area, where decals, wraps, customised paint jobs can have a really brilliant effect. On the other hand, there are some that have been used for precisely what they are designed to do and still get special treatment.
This is not a brand thing but a thread that I would like to start because of my growing affection for these big gentle giants.
The objective of the thread is to try and get a few ideas for all of us out there who would like to do something different with our Adventures.. I am lucky in that I have an SE, a DRZ and a 2003 950 Adventure. Also that I know my way confidently around these bikes, so any degree of stripdown is no problem. So.. While the temptation will arise and my old duck will get a pair of offroad tyres fitted from time to time, where I will chase her along trails and put her through the torment of the odd sand pit, I would like to believe that I will largely use my Adventure for tasks that won't have her trying to repair cracks in her well manicured nails...
