PIERER Mobility: KTM AG’s Reorganization Plan Approved – Back on Track
PIERER Mobility AG has reached a major milestone in the restructuring of its subsidiary, KTM AG. Creditors have officially approved KTM AG’s reorganization plan, setting the stage for a fresh start.
Key Highlights:
• Restructuring plan accepted – Creditors will receive a 30% cash quota, payable by May 23, 2025.
• New capital injection needed – Approximately EUR 800 million is required to stabilize operations.
• Production restart – Manufacturing will resume mid-March 2025, with full capacity targeted within three months.
Restructuring Plan Secured
KTM AG, a wholly owned subsidiary of PIERER Mobility AG, initiated court-supervised restructuring proceedings with self-administration on November 29, 2024, aiming to reach an agreement with creditors within 90 days. Today, creditors officially accepted the plan, ensuring a structured path forward.
CEO Statement: A New Chapter Begins
Gottfried Neumeister, CEO of PIERER Mobility AG, expressed his gratitude:
“I am incredibly thankful today. KTM is back on track. Over the past three months, our employees have given their all to keep this race going. Today, we close an important chapter—but the KTM story is far from over. We continue for our passionate fans, our dedicated racers, and our deep-rooted Austrian heritage. KTM remains one of the top employers in Upper Austria, and we are ready for the road ahead.”
EUR 800 Million in Fresh Capital Needed
To finance the restructuring and resume full-scale operations, PIERER Mobility AG requires approximately EUR 800 million in new capital. Citigroup Global Markets Europe AG has been appointed to oversee this investment process, ensuring transparency and efficiency for all stakeholders.
Production to Resume in March
With an additional EUR 50 million in funding from an extended group of shareholders, KTM AG will gradually restart production in mid-March 2025. The goal is to achieve full capacity utilization of its four production lines in a single-shift operation within three months.
This marks a significant step toward KTM’s recovery, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, performance, and global leadership in the motorcycle industry.
