Did you decide not to go into Lesotho up Ongeluksnek?
Hi Jon, we decided to "skip" Ongeluks due to the wet conditions.  That black mud is a mess and riding there is not pleasant when wet.

SGB, get a pair of long pants for fark's sake you making me cold just thinking about it.
Hello Paulsky - I don't own long pants, but do wear long socks when it gets cold.  This trip was not cold, it does cool down a little in July around there though..... ;)
I think you guys should come to the WD bash in Hogsback.
Work commitments are keeping us away - pity, would be nice to be there.  Looks like a serious team.

Whats the main difference between the RR and Alfie's DS weekend?
AMA, this is a KTM branded event where you sleep in tents.  The ACDSF is open to all brands of DS bikes and you sleep in a hotel and you can bring your pillion.

SGB, why are there so few (relatively speaking) KZN boys on the forum? - and yes you can take this as a dare....  ;D
H
Don't know - suppose we are not doing a great marketing job - will do some work there.....

Thanks MdB and all the others!

I will e-mail when home again - on the road at the moment....

Ha ha!  It's amazing to see some of your terrain look almost identical to ours in the drier areas of the province.

Allways good to see a photo of Alfie Cox.  Fecking Hard Bastid!!

That is exactly what I thought when I read that you were going that route. I went up there a few months ago before the rains started and I could see that it would be very challenging while wet.

A response all the way from Canada, thank you!    And you are right, Alfie is in a totally different league when it comes to riding a scooter.  I watch some guys and think: "Yes maybe one day", but with Alfie it is more like: "No never, just completely out of reach".  But riding with him and Richard Manning / Rod Gray / Warren / Oz / Reg / Mike and all the others is always a learning experience and it removes all doubts about the ability of the bikes and the lack thereof of the rider.  But we keep going back..... ;D

Looks like a lot fun was had will def have to make a plan to be there next year ;)
