Well right no fine day 2,but before I get to that Xpat you chop ! I really wanted to meet you ,you inspired me big time to ride solo......

day 2
woke up in the morning and started packing and there was no nothing from Hiens tent , when he turtaled out his tent I could just see he was not going to make the rest of the trip. , he was [ fock chom I know this was the plan but I can't] so I figuered I've packed for solo so bugger it I'm going and that's were the fun started.Went dirt to Maseru and to hob house and stopped for a smoke break before weppener and saw a lot of bikers in reflective jackets [eco run ] got to weppener and there was a guy with a XT 660 z with a flat ,gave him my tube and helped him change it and pushed on.Crossed the Orange river and pushed on to Sterkspruit [mmmmmm no comment , or maby] the nanni poured petrol all over my tank bag and seat .thought no need to get upset I'm the only white oke here and that could get nasty, paid her and went to the mall to top up with some beers , Pay day F me gorge...........found some little oke and offerd him 20 bucks to watch my bike and he agreed , so got a six pack paid the dude and pushed on to lower tener , upper tenier , lundens neck and back trackt to Barkley east and Rhodes.Got to Walk abouts to pay for camping and there were some bikers from PTA , the wheels fell off there , Jaygermisters [I'm spelling it like a remember] iesh put my tent up late , Had a good giggle with them . The wind then picked up , at 2 in the morning I coudn't sleep any more, Had a smoke and ended up with my tent, mattress and sleeping bag rapped around me, shit for this , killed the smoke and spent the rest of morning holding my tent down till 6 .

Day 3
What a night it was , well not much of a night when the Jaygermiesters wore off,had no sleep at all and knew it was a long day to get home. The wind was pumping and the rain started. packed eventualy after chasing my tent being blown away but got it all packed and on the bike.Got half way up Naudeers nek and realised Iv'e left my smokes behined [F!!!!!] turned around and found a shop  just outside Rhoudes and got another pack and a lighter and carried on. Got to Tenna head and the wind was giving stick and it rained on and off all morning. Charl said to me I must go left at the T junction and go straight to MT fletcher [100km off as apouse to macklair] so I did . Spent 100km paddeling in 2nd all the way there in snot.Filled fuel in Mt Fletcher and headed for Mattat.Stopped at a KFC in the taxi rank and had some lunch. At that time I felt F it!  and left the keys in the bike and my helmet on the seat,if it's going to get stolen TAKE IT!....then the rain started again......fffffff it was going side ways .never seen that before.Rode to Kokstad in unbelievabe wind , had to stop and hold the bike for 20 min at a time and wait for a drop in the wind and carry on . from Kokstad to swartberg took me 2 hours [ 60km] I was stuffed .5 oclock and 400 km to home . Phoned the wife and told her no way I'm coming home. Found a B&B 200 rand , shower, bed and warm. Lovely place .Had soya rubbish for supper [wount eat that shit again] 2 beers ,shower and sleped like a dead man.

Two words come to mind "Self inflicted" :imaposer: But adventure none the less.

Day 4

Had an awsome sleep, what a plessure not to pack up a camp site for a change, had condence milk coffee and sat outside and had a smoke and some rusks for breakfast. Not a breath of wind and the sun was shinning and no clouds in sight. It was going to be a good ride home.Plotted my way and gave the wife a call to tell her I was almost on my way.She proceeded to tell me to make sure my rain suit was easy to get to as it was pissing with rain at home.....hell no not again! ,left swatberg and got to underburg and the rain started. At Bulwer I could see about 10m infront of me and had to ride with my visor open.Got to boston and decided to do dirt to Fort Nottingham, When I got past Everglades and had to turn off to Notties there were roadworks and the road was just one mud hole so skipped that and took tar the long way around.Got home around mid day.Even with all the challanges I loved every moment of the trip . What an Adventure.

Nice looking bike! Just one question, does the rear fender on the front wheel not touch the tool tube when fully compressed? Why is it located there?

Hi Edgar , that was the best place to put so it's easy to get to , I have all my tools in there [tyre levers , sockets, allan keys] it did hit it so I cut the hugger and now it's all good. One really handy thing I scored from a vet product rep was a bag type thing with pockets that fits over my tank and the tank bag holds it on is so handy. In it I have tube repair kit, liquid steel, compressor, leatherman, knife, wallet and my smokes. So when it comes to fixing punctures I don't have to unpack the bike , everything is all handy.

Nice Jim, you do know how to make a adventure out of a simple trip. :thumleft:
