As you all know, the touring screen for the 800gs is not that great. After doing a lot of research I have decided to import a Laminar-lip from www.laminarlip.com in the USA.
The installation was very easy, you simply attach the 3M locking pads to the touring screen as well as the laminar-lip and then join the two. The initial performance was as follows:
1. No more wind against my helmet. ( even at high speed )
2. A lot of buffeting-noise around the helmet from about 60km/h and up.
Since I am 188cm tall I thought if I could tilt the screen slightly forward to raise the height of the screen and the lip it might just sort out the buffeting-noise. I then made 2 x wedges out of perspex and fitted it under the feet of the touring screen's metal brace. That raised the top of the screen ( lip ) about 30mm higher. It also pushed the whole screen slightly more upright.
Results:
About 80% less buffeting-noise and definately no more wind pushing against my helmet at any speed. My problem is solved and I am a happy man!!
