I've got an Emco compact 8 lathe that I've had for about 12 years but never took the time to learn how to use it. Lockdown has given me an excuse to play with it. So, can do the basic stuff now but today decided to try cutting thread......
Changed all the gear wheels for M10x1.5 thread, locked cross slide, set top slide to 29° engage half nuts & away I go. Thread looks o.k but when I lay it next to a M10 bolt or tap, it looks completely different. Triple checked everything but don't know what I'm doing wrong.Even thought the lead screw might not be metric but it seems to be. Any suggestions?
