This event have been going for years in the Rockies in the USA. https://www.horizonsunlimited.com/bigdog/
It got me thinking that maybe we need a similar event in the good ol RSA. Lesotho seems to be the only place that have the same rugged passes and landscapes.

So here is the idea; an annual event taking place in autumn. Everyone meet in a place like Himeville or Matatiele. Enter at Sani and go down Ramatsiliso's gate or visa versa. Some sections that will be included will require pushing bikes, driving through rivers and scaling steep inclines and tracks mostly used by locals on foot and donkeys. There will also be the easier option for those less experienced or that does not want their machines scratched and dented.

The event can be duped the "Lesotho Pony Ride"

This will be an organized event meaning it will attract a fee that will include accommodation some meals and cover other expenses.
If there is enough interest I will work out a budget, date and exact route.
This should not cost much more than covering your own costs for a trip like this but there will be the added security of medical evacuation insurance and bike recovery etc. with a backup vehicle carrying luggage and camp gear to free the bikes up from the extra weight.
The group will most likely be limited to 30 riders in three groups of 10.
Bikes will be limited to street legal adventure bikes 650 and bigger.
Two days in Lesotho with one night camping at the foot of the spectacular Matabeng pass in a beautiful riverside campsite.
