Goed gedoen Michiel.

Ek onthou nog vir John perd van skool dae af. Hy was al daai tyd al kort van humeur. Ek onthou nog die dag toe ek per ongeluk in die swembad ingery het met sy resies fiets. Hy was baie bly gewees daai dag. ;D

Ek wil Desember die 15de tot so die 20ste weer Lesotho in.

Weet dis verkeerd om die tyd om te wens maar ek kan al klaar nie wag nie.

Thanks. Glad to see people are still reading the story.  :thumleft:

After John and I saw out gatte I thought I would never try a stunt like that again but I was wrong. A few weeks
after the ordeal I was already starting to forget how difficult it was and thinking I would love to go try finish what
we started. Finish riding the road to Semonkong.

This is how the following trip started. https://wilddog.net.za/forum/index.php?topic=43003.0

Lesotho is a really really really special place. I have become completely obsessed with it. In due time there will be
a video made available commercially about our second trip.

Wow, what an amazing trip. Well done to both of you. Your RR really gets one itching to get out there and experience some  more adventure.
Your photos are stunning!!!!!!

Thanks for still reading and posting.  :thumleft:

This trip seems so long ago now but it had an effect on me that will last a lifetime. It was during this excursion that
I fell in love with Lesotho. It is a strange kind of love because part of it is that of admiration and awe and part of fear.

Believe it or not but since then I have visited that last valley two more times. I still don't know what the area is called, wrote
the name of the village at the bottom of the valley down on my notebook. What I do know is the name of a very special
lady that lives there. Mamponyane. She is the wife of the Chief and an character indeed. For me this place will forever
be "Mamponyane's Valley".

Nice report Michiel!

I've done that Semonkong route two years ago, but in much better weather and I've made video of crossing that valley that I already posted in other thread on WD, but you can check it out here to see what you have missed on the uphill from the river (but yours was obviously on heavier bikes and much worse weather) - maybe can nudge you to come back for it  >:D
