OK, so I have been released from active duty at the grindstone for a week in November - 18th - 27th specifically.
The initial plan is for YoungGSer and I to drive from Jhb up to Alldays on the 19th November (Saturday) taking in some lekker dirt roads on the way - fairly long day of around 480km i would think.
The next day we will head towards the border and turn left along the closest road we can find that runs along the SA side of the border, going west.
At this point the plan gets vague. We want to head along the border road for about 5 days or so and then spend 2 or 3 days riding back to Jhb via some out-of-the-way back-roads - hopefully mostly dirt.
The questions to the Dawgs are:
- what sights are recommended in the rough area we intend to be in?
- Any good passes to ride?
- Any idea on places to camp along the way?
- Any areas we cannot get into - Game Parks etc?
- Any other suggestions?
We have never ridden in the area, so any info would be great!
