My journey to the EC bash started on Thursday at 12:00, leaving home in the rain.

The rain was my companion all the way on the N1 south to Kroonstad where it started to clear. I stayed the night at my brothers’ place in Bloemfontein. He is a lurking member who initially planned to come along but had to cancel due to work commitments.

On Friday morning I left around 09:00 from Bloem, staying in the boring N1 as I was travelling alone and experienced thick mist around Colesberg. The weather started to clear close to Noupoort where a memorial moment took place…

I found the road between Willowmore and Steytlerville very interesting and had to stop for a photo.

The turn-off to the bash venue, clearly market by Watty.

The entrance to the campsite, again clearly market.

From here till Sunday morning the camera was lost. It was nice to meet the different people from the WC and EC and to place faces and personalities to the forum names.

Sunday morning, ready for the long way back and the sun was shining after the previous day’s rain and hail.

I filled up in Aberdeen. The book says the tank takes 33 liters

I wonder what this guy is thinking off….

I was pleasantly surprised to see the family name around.

Sunday night I again stayed over in Bloem to return home on Monday.

The GPS stats say it all….

Thanks Watty for all the arrangements. The hot showers were a blessing. It was nice to meet all the Wild Dogs from the South. Hope to see you again soon.

Was keen on joining you but another trip was planned

I didn't know that Vuka has a DS bike out  ;)

It would have been nice to share the road with one of the Jameson Brothers.

it was great meeting you again...glad you got home safely. What a nice long journey.  :thumleft:

Nice trip Oetie, yep the mist was very bad, I was also on my way down to Fraserburg on Friday early morning, must have missed you somewhere on the N1, the road with the cement is called "Die Witpad" and you have to yield to oncoming traffic with two wheels on the gravel to let the other car past, nice photies as well, see you stopped before my old hometown of Middelburg to take pics :thumleft:

Great to meet you , never did get my bux from Adventurer.

He came all the way to Steytlerville and never came to the bash , Puzzled ?

No worries, I'll do an EFT.
Got far too comfortable at the Royal Hotel, didn't see the need to go riding in more mud and rain. :thumleft:
