Been wanting to go to Memel district for quite a while now...so the past weekend the DR650 was trailered to Memel Hotel from where the exploring would start.

Saturday morning early up and out to Müllers pass first. Was rather disappointed as it was not that steep or dangerous...this photo was just past or just before Mullers pass

Then onto Normandiens Pass

Going down the pass...

Then the head on collision with a mountainbiker on my way up again, with a mountainbiker who cam down at speed!!! His brake marks are the long one and mine is the short stripe. Not too much damage considering it could not have happened at more than 20-30 km/h. slightly bent handle bars and brake pedal..the rest scratches on the screen and plastic head cowling and mudguard.

An old deserted/abandoned farmhouse from prolly 150 years ago and some of the general landscape

Here's some more...after the crash I didn't do the amount of kilo's I planned on and took less photo's...at my age the muscles and bones were extremely painful and made riding uncomfotable, especially the second day after the incident.

Freaking cyclists

You cant say that...he was keeping to his side of the road, its the scooter that was "cutting the corner"
Very cool pics though.....
If the cyclist was at home having a braai like he was supposed to there would have been no prang!

We are going there this weekend  :ricky: Think we will be riding in the rain though.

Thanks guys...yes I was in the wrong - being on the wrong side of the track...BUT did not expect a speeding cyclist...if it was a vehicle it would have been travelling much slower...even to observe if on the inside of the corner...fortunately the cyclist was also OK...in better condition than me... as the bike pinned my right leg down.

now seriously Serfie, tell us, we are your friends..........where did you dump the body?

Well...seeing that you are really my friends...it wasn't necessary to dump it...it happened automatically...he just disappeared over the edge of the cliff...it drops straight down at that particular spot!...frightening!
