As you may or may not know we're about to go tour Kaokoland in 2 week's time. One of my friends who'll be joining us has just returned from the US of A and is now urgently looking for a bike. As you can see there's no time to get the bike fixed so the bike needs to be in a really good condition and ready to take on whatever Kaokoland can throw at it.
Ideally he's looking for something in the 650cc class (KTM 640, Honda XR650R, KLR, DR , X-Challenge?) but a nice DRZ (with bigger tank) would also work. Ideally the bike needs to be farkled. Top prise will go to one with better pegs, handlebar risers, crashbars, bigger tank etc, although the 640 and KLR' tanks are fine. For some reason he's not too keen on a Dakar but if the price/condition/timing is right you might just have yourself a buyer.
I cannot stress enough how important it is that the bike is in tip top condition. Put it this way, if you wouldn't send you mechanically clueless best friend to Kaokoland on the bike then it's probably not the bike he's looking for.
If you have a bike to sell please contact my friend direct. His name is Dawid and his number is 074 180 1021 and he's in Gauteng. If you've seen the bike at a dealer (obviously I wouldn't expect you to have an in depth knowledge of the bike) then please post the details here and I'll pass it on to him.
Many thanks!
EDIT 24/9/7 - The bike need not be in a cosmetically spotless condition but it must be mechanically very sound.
