Monday morning 13 Oct when most of you okes are still sniffing farts, Oldtimer (Dave Venter) and FireAnt (and ex-member of forum) are leaving per bakkie and trailer for Askham.
From there we're going to head due east on the bonies to Bray, about 500 km east, and then follow the run of the Molopo river, crossing into Botswana at McCarthy's rest.
We will enter SA again at whotsitsname, that border post near Andriesvale/Askham.
We plan to only camp. It will be my first purely camping trip in quite a while and I'm really looking forward to it.
A question or two:
1. Has anybody ever ridden the piece of road through the Molopo reserve to McCharthy's Rest along the river? I hear it's quite sandy. I'm not bang, just .... ahem, curious.
2. What's it like at Berry Bush camp? Can't find info on web.
3. Will they accept Runt in a town like Tshabong? I don't feel like getting Pulas just to buy some dop en tjop.
4. Who's your daddy? >
