During the week I popped in to see AdventureMX and collect my new D606 rear tire.
While there I couldn't resist a set of Zeta hand guards. AdventureMX is a great guy and he has a really nice setup, If you need some bling give the guy a ring ;D
Having never fitted a bike tire before I was a little apprehensive but went for it anyway as I know its a vital skill to have when you need to fix a flat in the middle of nowhere! It was so easy I was almost let down! I kept waiting for something to go wrong or to hit a snag somewhere but it didn't happen.
Wheel come of the bike, I used Li's side stand to break the bead, Used my 2 large levers to remove the tire and then popped the new one on. Whole episode took 20 minutes including the beer at the end.
As you might know I had a spill last week and broke my rear brake bracket, I was annoyed to find that Kawamaakisaki had no stock in SA and I was going to have to wait 4 weeks for them to get or 5 weeks to get a better part from overseas myself, then LeCap our own local KLR magician let me know he had an Eagle Mike bracket in stock right here in SA, The next morning it was in my hands, Thanks Lecap you were a life saver!
After that I did the ICSA procedure better known as the IceCreamScoopApendectome thereby removing the stock hand guards and replacing them with the very nice Zeta Units from AdventureMX, They look so much better on the KLR and realy work great with the Pro Taper bars I have.
Then I added the WD stickers I made, It helps when you're mate owns a signage shop.
I added these to our helmets,
