MX helmet for general use

Hi All

I am considdering getting a carbon MX helmet for general use with goggles.  As I have never had one, I was wondering whether the are a good idea comfort wise.  Do goggles work as well as a visor would?  What are the pros and cons - like a swarm of bees - of a mx and goggles combo? What are they like on the open road?
